The Allure of Anais Nin

This is a unique event where individuals speak about how this celebrated writer and diarist inspired them, either as a friend or through her writings. In addition to her published journals spanning 60 years, Anais Nin wrote novels, essays, critical studies, and, erotica. She was deeply interested in psychology and was a frequent lecturer at many universities. Her original diaries are stored in the UCLA Library. In 1976, she was awarded the Los Angeles Woman of the Year Award. Nin died at the age of 74 in 1977.

This is the inaugural event of the Diana & Simon Raab Writers Series and will be held in Community Hall at AUSB’s downtown campus at 602 Anacapa Street (map). The event is FREE and open to the public, with limited seating.
